• access ramps

Access ramps will allow you to enter your home safely and with ease where there is a change in building level, such as steps to your front or back door. Permanent ramps are concrete based and custom made for your location, finished with a handrail to provide additional support. Our technical surveyors will assess the gradient (height) and space available to offer you the best solution. With an inhouse trade team, any other alterations required for the ramp will be carried out ensuring an efficient turnaround time.

Ramp Guidelines

We design ramps for individual situations. They are an important feature for accessing your home. To be safe and most effective, ramps are built with a few basic guidelines:

Slope – refers to how steep a ramp is. This affects how difficult it is to travel up and down a ramp. The ideal slope or gradient is referred to is 1:20. The minimum slope acceptable is 1:12.

Width – The width of a ramp should be at least 48″ (4ft) or 122cm

There are alternative available that may better suit the needs of the person. Other options include long tread low riser steps with handrails or an outdoor stairlift. These alternatives can be viewed in our ramp gallery.
