We realize that one size doesn’t fit all. When accessing upstairs is no longer viable we can help. Our skilled building team can support you with creating a downstairs living space such as a bedroom and bathroom by extending your home with minimum disruption and stress. An expert opinion of an occupational therapist is required if applying for a grant. However even if you are undertaking this work privately OT’s are experts in advising people how to live as normally as possible when faced with illness, injury or disability. An OT will carry out a full functional assessment looking at how you participate at home currently and what your priorities are. Your extension can then be built around you and your priorities for every day safe living. After all our job is to support people to live independently in their homes.

Minor Building Adaptations include:

  • External step and ramps for easy access
  • Modifications to doors such as widening and creating level access
  • Grab handrails externally
  • Stair Handrails

Major Building Adaptations:

  • Building extensions to expand downstairs space
  • Adapted bathroom and wet room installations
  • Access ramps with handrails for front and back
  • Structural Alterations
  • In home alterations to allow for wheelchair access around the home
  • Low-level kitchen installations
