Handicare Freecurve stairlift

Stylish single rail curved stairlift

The Handicare Freecurve stairlift is the perfect stairlift solution for a spiral, narrow or steep staircase with limited space. The Freecurve can overcome the toughest staircase challenges. Custom built to fit your staircase, this unique and elegant single-track stairlift is available in a variety of colours to match your home décor.

The Freecurve is available in 3 seat styles: Classic, Alliance and the Elegance seat. The Freecurve is also available in 2 configurations: (1) the Rembrandt follows a path around the internal bend (normally, the bannister side) and (2) the Van Gogh follows the outside of the bend (normally, the wall side).

Handicare Freecurve unique features

The Handicare Freecurve curved stairlift offers features such as a powered swivel seat and powered folding footplate; these can make using a stairlift even easier by allowing you to operate these functions at the touch of a button rather than manually. Even if you don’t need them now, they may be something you will benefit from in the future.

Browse the range of unique features available with Handicare Freecurve stairlift:

Powered hinge

The Handicare Freecurve stairlift can also be supplied with an automatic hinged track which means when operating the stairlift from the toggle, the hinge will lift/lower automatically. This removes the need to bend down when lifting or lowering the rail and eliminates any obstruction of the stairlift rail on the bottom landing of the stairs.

Zero intrusion kit

The footplate of your stairlift will finish equal to the top or bottom of the stairs. There’s no need to step off the footplate, all you need to do is swivelling your seat, making it easy to get safely on the landing. Zero intrusion eliminates the rail overrun, allowing you to install a Handicare Freecurve stairlift with no modifications made to your home.

Dropnose kit

In some circumstances, our single tube curved track can offer an alternative to a hinged track. If your staircase is compatible, a drop nose track can be installed which means the track will finish closer to the stairs than with a standard finish thereby removing the need for a hinged track.

Powered swivel

All of our stairlifts come with a manual swivel seat as standard. If you choose the powered swivel option the seat swivel is operated by continuing to hold the toggle or joystick when you arrive at the top of the staircase. The seat will move automatically while the toggle / joystick is activated.

Powered footplate

All of our stairlifts come with a manual folding footplate as standard. If you choose the powered footplate option it will remove the need for you to bend down to fold or unfold the footplate. You can choose to have a footplate that folds automatically when the seat is folded and unfolded, or that is operated separately to the seat by a switch in the seat arm.

Active seat

This unique and patented development provides assistance for those users who would like some additional support when getting on or off the stairlift. It can also provide a greater sense of security when sitting down as the seat can be felt directly behind you.

The Active Seat lever is next to the seat; when seated you simply lift it up to activate the seat. Using the armrests for additional stability, you will benefit from a gentle boost as you rise to the standing position.

The Active Seat will then remain in an upward position ready to assist when you sit down again. The Active Seat puts you in control because you can choose when to use it. This makes it ideal for conditions where physical ability varies on a day to day basis as it is on hand to provide help as needed.

Turn & go seat

The turn and Go seat has been developed to help those customers who have a very narrow curved staircase. Once seated, your seat will turn automatically so that your back faces the stairs, not the wall or handrail, during travel and thereby move your knees away from clashes with the wall or bannister. It can also be used to help those who have difficulty bending their knees to fit into the available stair width.

Choice of seat style

The Handicare Freecurve seat comes in a variety of styles and choices as well. You can choose from our Classic, Elegance or Alliance seats to further customise your lift both in terms of how it looks and optional features available.

Choice of seat colour

Each seat is available in 3 standard colours. The Elegance is available in Ruby, Cacao and Sand. The retro style of the Alliance is available in Sand (Cacao trim), Ruby (Sand trim) and Cacao (Sand trim). The Classic is available in Sand, Ruby & Slate Grey.

Full body harness

Designed for customers who need extra support The curved design makes the harness more comfortable to wear and each harness comes with adjustable straps to tailor the harness to your needs. The harness is available in three sizes.

Rail colour

The Handicare Freecurve features a unique, single-rail design that is slim and unobtrusive on your stairs. The Handicare Freecurve single-tube system is available in a choice of three colours as standard to suit your décor: cream, grey and brown.
