The Handicare 1100 straight stairlift is the world’s slimmest stairlift. Its strong yet super slim line rail obscures less of your stairs than any other straight stairlift system. With its compact design and grease free rail, the Handicare 1100 straight stairlift blends in nicely with your interior and is a breeze to keep clean.
Due to its slim and compact design, it can be fixed close to the wall which frees up a lot of space for other stair users to use the stairs safely. Like all modern stairlifts the seat, arms and footrest fold up when not in use. As the stairlift reaches the top of the stairs the seat swivels onto the landing so you can get off easily.

Handicare slide track
The Slide Track is a groundbreaking solution available only from Handicare. This unique solution moves the track up the staircase at the same time as the seat is moving, leaving the doorway at the base of your stairs unobstructed.
Powered swivel
All of our stairlifts come with a manual swivel seat as standard. If you choose the powered swivel option the seat swivel is operated by continuing to hold the toggle or joystick when you arrive at the top of the staircase. The seat will move automatically while the toggle / joystick is activated.
Powered footplate
All of our stairlifts come with a manual folding footplate as standard. If you choose the powered footplate option it will remove the need for you to bend down to fold or unfold the footplate. You can choose to have a footplate that folds automatically when the seat is folded and unfolded, or that is operated separately to the seat by a switch in the seat arm.
Easy hinge
In order for the seat to get low enough for the user to sit on, it is necessary for the track to extend beyond the staircase to the lower floor level. Or in some cases, there may be a doorway close to the bottom of the stairs and the track may intrude across this. The Easy Hinge allows for the bottom portion of the rail to be lifted up out of the way of any doorways or passageways when the stairlift is not in use. It works with the assistance of a gas strut, meaning that operation is as easy as possible.
Zero intrusion kit
The footplate of your stairlift will finish equal to the top or bottom of the stairs. There’s no need to step off the footplate, all you need to do is swivelling your seat, making it easy to get safely on the landing. Zero intrusion eliminates the rail overrun, allowing you to install a Handicare 1100 stairlift with no modifications made to your home.
Continuous charging, robust motor & safety sensors
The Handicare 1100 does not have to be parked at a designated charge point – the lift is charged at any point along the entire length of the track, so you can leave the stairlift wherever you want, without worrying that if it is being charged.
The robust 1100 is powered by Handicare’s patented four wheel drive technology with four quiet and reliable motors. In the unfortunate and rare event one of the motors breaks down, you can still finish your ride up or down the stairs. The lift is fully certified by the international stairlift safety standard EN 81-40 and designed for years and years of carefree daily use.
The Handicare 1100 comes as standard with safety sensors that will stop the lift in case of obstruction.
